What is Vata?
Vata is air and space. It feels like restlessness, dryness, cold hands and feet, scattered thoughts, or light, broken sleep. In balance, Vata is creativity, inspiration, and a sense of freedom.
What is Pitta?
Pitta is fire and water. It shows up as heat in the body, sharpness in the mind, drive, ambition, or irritability when things don’t flow. In balance, Pitta brings clarity, courage, and strong digestion — in every sense.
What is Kapha?
Kapha is earth and water. It feels steady, calm, and nourishing when balanced. Out of balance, it can feel heavy, stuck, slow to move, or resistant to change.
Do doshas change?
Your prakriti — your original constitution — never changes. What shifts is how your doshas show up with time. In your 20s and 30s, Pitta is strong, fueling fire and ambition. From 35–45, Vata begins to rise, bringing movement, creativity, but also anxiety or dryness. After 45, Vata often leads, shaped by the natural decline of hormones in both men and women. These shifts are not problems. They are rhythms your body has always known.
